Splitting Atoms to Burning fuel
It all began with writing calibrations for the GM LS1 world while in college at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln to earn extra money. Back then it was the world of LS1 edit and then eventually HP Tuners for editing power train controllers. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tom entered the nuclear industry, and eventually, through years of training gained a Reactor Operators license and then later Senior Nuclear Reactor Operators license granted by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. At the same time and in parallel to his career in nuclear he began taking classes and eventually obtained a degree in Nuclear Engineering. As years went by he served in key roles for daily plant operations and management - however his passion for vehicles never went away……………………….
While working rotating shift-work he continued to pursue vehicle tuning as a dedicated hobby which he very much loved. At first serving as an alternative release from the stresses of running a nuclear reactor and direction of plant staff, it quickly turned into a passion that combined his love for engineering, vehicle tuning, and growing a business.
Name change:
VIN Specific Enterprises was initially established as Calibrated Performance LLC. under which they developed vendor and customer relationships in 2011. As time went on it became apparent that what continues to set the calibration and products apart is that they are specific to each vehicle, its miles and its wear and tear. Calibrations applied to a turbo diesel at 10,000 miles are not the same as those applied to a diesel at 100,000 miles, and the amount of air a gas motor can ingest at 10,000 miles is irrelevant at 100,000 miles. With this in mind (and to assist in search engine optimization) Calibrated Performance LLC was re-branded to Vin Specific Enterprises (VSE) in 2017.
VSE has a robust skill set that has allowed us to tune almost any platform; Dodge, General Motors, Ford, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, VWs, Nissans, Toyotas, Semi truck and tractors and motorcycles. At the end of the project, we want to ensure they are 100% satisfied in the product that we deliver. We employ a staff of 20 and growing that include licensed engineers, a software engineer, a department of highly skilled machinist, a full service mechanical service department, technical sales team and online technical support, shipping and receiving team as well as an outside and inside dealer sales team and vehicle delivery support.
